Effective Monday, June 8, with the province entering Alert Level 3, the following changes will be implemented in the Town Office:
The main door will be open to the public to allow people inside the porch area to conduct business.
Only 1 person will be admitted in the porch at a time. If you see someone in the porch, we ask that you please wait outside until the person leaves and allow us time to wipe down the area before you enter.
Hand sanitizer will be available on site.
If you have any symptoms we ask that you not enter the building.
The Town office will re-open on Tuesday nights from 7-9PM.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS:
The Town has received approval for 1 student labourer/grounds maintenance person through Canada Summer Jobs. The position is for 30 hours per week for a 6 week period @ minimum wage. Duties may include, but are not limited to, mowing grass, painting, road side clean up, etc. The individual must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Resumes can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to Box 10, WInterland, NL A0E 2Y0. Deadline to apply is Friday, June 19 by 5 PM. Resumes will be reviewed during the council meeting on June 23. Only the successful candidate will be notified.

The Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board will be resuming the Regular Monthly Collection Schedule of Household Bulk materials on Tuesday June 02, 2020.
Please note that due to anticipated high volumes there may be some delays.
Also for residents who are still looking to dispose of your old wooden garbage boxes, you can place them at the curbside with your bulk items.

Effective April 16, 2020, the town can now accept payments through e-mail transfer at email@example.com. Payments will be automatically deposited. When making a payment towards your account, please include in the note section as to whose account the payment should be applied.

BPRSB Changes due to COVID-19 Preparedness
Please be advised that due to COVID-19 and the practicing of social distancing the Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board will be implementing the following changes effective immediately:
Our staff has been split into 2 teams and will be working different shifts to keep social distancing.
The BPRSB Office will be closed to the Public. Site hours of operation will not be affected at this time. Payments and inquiries can be made by phone at (709) 891-1717 or by mailing to P.O. Box 510, Burin Bay Arm, NL A0E 1G0.
Until further notice there will be no assistance with Off Loading by our spotter at the Public Drop off Area. The spotter will only direct visitors to the proper bins.
Bulk Collection will be delayed by one month and will be tentatively scheduled to begin in May before placing items at the curbside residents should check the website for updates.
Service Enhancement Program ( Dumpsters ) will be re-assessed in April and if necessary it may have to be suspended or changed.
The Compost Program in the Town of Grand Bank is suspended until further notice.
The Board has also taken other internal measures to help combat COVID-19 and to insure that we continue to provide the necessary service of waste management in our region.

Effective immediately (Tuesday, March 17 @ 1 PM), the Winterland Recreation Centre will be closed to all groups. All rentals or groups activities are hereby cancelled until further notice. Council will update when further information is available. If anyone has concerns they are asked to contact the Town Office @ 279-3701.
